This Thursday night, June 4th at 7:15pm, we will host an online Zoom webinar for parents and guardians of children from all classes.
The webinar will provide practical, non-technical advice on keeping children safe online. This informative and engaging session will be presented by Ger Brick, who has over 20 years' experience working online and has delivered internet safety workshops to more than 90,000 primary school children across Ireland.
We strongly encourage at least one parent or guardian from every family to attend.
Ger will explore the current online landscape, including popular platforms and apps used by children such as TikTok, Snapchat, WhatsApp, Roblox, Discord, YouTube and online gaming communities.
Topics covered will include:
Cyberbullying: definitions and key facts
Supporting your child and key safety messages
Popular apps and children's online behaviour
Protecting personal information and privacy
Recognising and responding to cyberbullying
Monitoring online activity and using parental controls
Devices: phones, tablets and game consoles
Online safety guidelines and the law
Parents and guardians will also have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues relevant to their own experiences.
