There was a lot of excitement today when the children caught a glimpse of our new playground. We are delighted to share news of our new boat, school bus, mud kitchen, Siopa and Stáisiúin an Gharda Síochána. These will be brilliant for our junior classes during breaktime and for outdoor Aistear lessons. We will also be getting a new soft surface surround for the larger pieces in the coming weeks.
The playground is strictly for use during school hours, under the supervision of a teacher. Parents who are waiting for older children to finish school are asked not to let younger siblings into the school yard. The equipment is also not for use in the morning before 9:20 as there is no outdoor supervision.
A huge thank you to the Parents' Association who made this possible through their hard work and dedication to our school. Each year they organise fundraisers, the biggest of which is our Christmas Hamper Draw. Thanks to all our families who support them as all the money raised is reinvested to make our school an even better place. Thank you also to the committee who researched and organised the purchase. Hopefully the weather behaves so we can make the most of the new equipment!
